How this works
The ground rules.
You have the mic. This is it. A community program of the North Lake Travis Chamber & Visitors Center. Nonpartisan, and built so every candidate gets the same shot.
What happens to your question
- You ask.Pick the race, pick a topic, type it. No account. Your first name is optional.
- An organizer reads it.Every question is checked before it posts, usually within a day. Duplicates get merged, and anything that breaks the rules below gets a note back.
- Neighbors vote. One vote per question per device. Votes rank questions, not candidates.
- Candidates answer, weekly.Every week the top questions go to every candidate in the race, and the answers publish together here.
What makes a good question
- One question, about the job. What would you do, how would you decide, what do you think about a real issue.
- Check the board before you post. If it’s already there, vote for it instead.
- No personal attacks, private information, or accusations without a source. Firm is fine. Mean is not.
- Ask something every candidate in the race can answer. That is how a forum works.
What this is not
- Not a poll. Vote counts show which questions people want answered, nothing more.
- Not an endorsement. No scores, rankings, or recommendations, ever.
- Not verified residency. Votes come from devices, not registered voters. That is why they decide questions, not outcomes.
- Not the candidates’ own site. Profiles are built from public records with the source next to each line. A missing answer means no answer on file, not a refusal.
Corrections
Spot something wrong? Send the candidate’s name, the line in question, and a source to the organizers. Corrections apply the same way to every candidate.
