Privacy

Short, because there isn't much to say.

Meet the Candidates is run by JJ Lux Consulting LLC for the North Lake Travis Chamber & Visitors Center. It collects the minimum needed to run a question board.

What we collect

  • An anonymous session for your device when you first vote or ask. It has no name, email, or phone attached. It is how we keep to one vote per question per device.
  • What you post: your questions and follow-ups, and a first name if you choose to add one. Approved questions and replied follow-ups are public.
  • Aggregate analytics when a tracking ID is configured: Google Analytics and Meta Pixel count page views, device types, and referring sites. Reports are totals, not individuals — no names, emails, or votes are sent to either service.
  • Candidate accounts: an email address and password for candidates who answer here, issued by the organizers.
  • A record of activity on the board: when each question was asked, edited, approved, voted on, and answered, and by which anonymous session or named organizer. It keeps a one-way hash of the network address (not the address itself) so we can spot one person voting from many devices, and the browser or app version. It exists so the whole process can be audited and published as a report after the election.
  • Ordinary server logs from our hosting providers (Vercel and Supabase), kept briefly for security and reliability.

What we don’t

  • No advertising, no ad networks, no selling or sharing of data with anyone. Analytics are used only to see how many neighbors use the site, never to target you with ads.
  • No contacts, location, photos, or other phone permissions. The app is the website in a native shell.
  • No email or phone number from residents, ever.

Your choices

Questions are moderated before they appear. To have a question, follow-up, or vote removed, or to ask what is held for your device, email the organizers. Anonymous sessions and their votes are deleted after the election. To avoid Google Analytics on sites you visit, install the Google Analytics opt-out; to limit Meta’s use of Pixel data, adjust your Meta ad settings.
